            Hello Peter,
Any markings inside the boot upper canvas areas?
Appears to be an original set from these photos.
            Regards,
            Mark.

              Hi Mark,
Thank you for your comment. Yes, there are additional ink stamp markings along the inside of the leather edging along the top of the boot. Their very faint, but definately there. Are there any photos of these in wear?

                    Hello,
I don't know much about SS Trp boots but WH. The making looks period and the use is consistent with a non or very little used boots, but showing some age. I am surprised they have no lining, as Wh model do have...but as I said, I don't know SS boots. That's all I can say, hope it helps. Why don't you post it in the SS forum? It is the next under this one.

Those appear to be fine, however I doubt they were intended for "Tropical" use. I believe they are actually a riding boot or a "stable boot". I have never seen a photo of these boots worn by SS troops in tropical regions. Also the photos of these boots I have seen published are in use with SS cavalry in Russia.

                          Hello,

Here's a neat link about this type of boot:

I used to own a very large portrait photo showing about fifty SS men posed under a huge palm tree. All were wearing pith helmets, shorts, and the ones in front had these style boots. Not sure whether it was taken in Italy, Greece, etc. but definitely somewhere tropical. Sorry that I ever sold it.

Those boots have indeed definitely been worn and period pictures confirm their use (I’ve seen them worn by Reichsführer SS personnel in Greece). They have been used by SS troops serving in Greece, Corsica and the Balkan (i.e. SS-Pol. Division, Reichsführer SS, etc), as far as I know, always in combination with shorts. I’m surprised you’ve seen them used by cavalry since IMO these boots have nothing to do with cavalry and would be far from practical in it’s use as well. Would be nice if you could dig up those photo's.

Furthermore, personally I’m not too fond on the bottom marking of this example, I rather would have see this in the inside of the shaft. But in overall they look nice.
