Well, it started life as an issue EM/NCO tunic from the stamps. It also has the upgraded EM/NCO cuff tabs rather than officer tabs. Those are just two things that jump out at me right off the bat. It was also for sale on the eStand.

Not necessarily - there were a lot of tunics that just used the under the tunic sword hangers.

Its odd that an issue EM waffenrock was used for the basis of an officers one.

I wonder if this has been restored incorrectly.

I think i'd save my money for a tunic without any problems

I have never seen a promoted Waffenrock and sincerly i dont believe it. Those kind of jackets were in property of the company. If one was promoted and became an officer you had to give it back and buy your own uniform at the Kleiderkasse or you could buy a taylor made example. I rather believe someone found it stripped and restored it with what was available.

Not to simply "pile-on", but I am not particularly keen on the positioning of the collar insignia either.

Rove, post some close-ups of the collar and its underside when you get it in. I think I can see the ghost of NCO tresse, but the pics are not hi-res enough to be sure - i could just be seeing things.

                            Good idea.

I'd save my money for one without any problems, as you might have trouble selling it in the future.

I dont understand why an officer would have an upgraded issue tunic.

Maybe it was end of war stock, and all he could get his hands on? Unlikely though.

Also the sewing on the shoulder boards doesnt look too great.

For me it looks like a put together tunic and this was not done in a nice way either
