Hello everyone, I have a question, what kind of shorts did the German mountain troops wear in tropical areas such as in Italy or the Balkans? LW WH ?

The shorts on the Crete pics are captured British khaki drill shorts. Later, the standard German army tropical shorts - or various field-made varieties - were worn in warm and tropical areas of operation.
