I still feel we need more photos of the jacket in question.

I agree but now we have original examples to compare it to.

I think I'll stick to admiring tunics in museums!

I am certainly no authority on HBT tunics, but here are a few recent threads I started, if they can help:

Those trousers and tunic, plus these tunics are what I still have in front of me.

I still don't see where the one in question is not correct.

Are the white buttons for the kragenbinder and the first aid packet pressed paper or plastic?

this is what i like to see on unworn hbt material

weaves are visible on both sides, but a clear difference is that horizontal lines appears too on the side usualy used inside.

and from pics provided untill now of the tunic discussed, i don't see this.

I was sent these images and asked to post them by request of the seller.

I don't see any problems what so ever with this jacket.

Selvege looks good but im wondering why that "Bias" material is visible along the "S" ring flap. That seam is usually sewn shut on both HBT and Tropical tunics. The edge just above the "Bias" material looks very rough and unfinished also.
                        Has this seam been opened?
Also HBt tunics usually have "Bias"material in the collar and that is for stiffening the collar and helping to support the collar when it is in upright position. It is also held in place with the ubiquitous "zig zag" stitch.

Im not sure what the function of bias material in this area of the tunic would be ? Where is the stitching to holdn it in place and why is it visble?

                        Regards KK

Photo 11 in this thread is what i expect to see in the "S"ring area
                          .
Notice how the seam is closed and looks much neater than the above example,

Any way you could post a photo of your LW HBT tunic? I'd like to see how it is sown.

Here is another example of what i expect,

This one is the "S" ring area on a tropical tunic,

                              Nice closed seam.

                              Photo 8,
