    Wehrmacht-Dolmetscher

    Hi Everybody,

I recently bought a small collection of armbands: several of which I haven't seen before (apart from in books).

Here's one - 'Wehrmacht-Dolmetscher' - which I understand was for War Reporters during the Spanish Civil War.

    Anyone else have this armband?

    Thanks for looking.

    All the best,
    Toby.

    Hello Toby,
Dolmetscher is actually a translator. I've seen only one that I remember, about 25 years ago.

      Hi Erich,

Thanks for that. Silly me re. the translation. I do now remember reading that it was translator during the Spanish Civil War - I don't know 'Kriegsberichteter' and 'Dolmetscher' sound so alike - NOT.

      All the best,
      Toby.

Here's another armband, also in the same lot as the Dolmetscher armband. This time for Volunteers of the German Wehrmacht. Quite an interesting fabric - a heavier cotton.

        All the best,

        Toby.
