You are right, eagle looks officer's but collar looks EM early war... Perhaps an upgraded HBT jacket for walkingout but with eagle replaced with an officer's instead of EM's?? Or perhaps an officer's jacket with Litzen replaced with EM's....?

Sorry HomeArmy I was away for some days,
I can only agree with you and Carles, the jacket is clearly an officer one so is the eagle but the collar is an EM one.
Can you post a picture of the collar reverse?

        Hi,

I've been waiting for your response. Thanks to Carles I've got some directions where shall I put my eye. This collar looks dodgy even for me, however I'm quite new on this forum. It looks really like m36. Even those collar insignia are like soldier ones, when eagle is an officer version. I heard that such combinations were quite common during WWII. I'll post some more photos, especially reverse of the collar but this will take a few days yet. Those tunic is not in my hands yet. Hopefully I'll get that soon, because I won transaction.

          Hi,

I did a few more pictures of my HBT tunic. Especially those ones with the collar.
For me its collar looks rather like for lower rank soldiers, than officers. You may see even the remains of white threads, which I suppose were used for / tresse /.

Hi HomeArmy ! Thanks for the new pictures!
Can you post a picture of the eagle sewing inside the jacket? Pictures of the shoulder boards fastening can also be useful to determine if this is an officer's jacket downgrade or an EM upgrade.
            Thanks

                  Hi,

here we have a few more pictures of my HBT tunic.
Recently I've got quite interesting information about this, why on my tunic we have the officer's eagle, and just soldier's collar tabs. Well, someone told me that it must be HBT uniform which was possibly used by soldier who was in a military school, where before an official promotion at officier's degree some of the older soldiers had habit to attache some of officer's insignias, mostly just eagles.
It can be, becouse I discovered also remains of a white thread on the collar, which suggest to me that there was attached so called /tresse/ silver tape.
Officers were not using them anymore on such HBT tunics, as I know.

In case of shoulder boards fastenings, I see that there are only things like thin ropes, or thicker threads.

                    I do agree ,

You have great collection Rob! I do love especially your m36 tunic. They were designed before WWII by Hugo Boss. Really posh

this looks like an m43 hbt rather than m42, as listed in your album, rob. i dont see scalloped pocket flaps, just straight edged.nice piece of schmutter all the same.

                        Hi,

Here is my contribution. Two combat HBT tunics with replaced insignia. Normally I do not keep uniforms with replaced insignia but these two jackets I found myself. I found them on the attick of a farm 3km from my home. They were put into a German ammunition-box together with a drill tunic. I also found some equipment. In september 1944 a group of soldiers left all their wagons and equipment near the farm. The farmer took some pieces and kept them on the attick. I got everything from the son (who was 8 years in 1944). There is still a barral of a german mortar used as a bell on the farm...

It was clearly where the insignia had to be so I replaced them... Hope you like it.

Hello HomeArmy, I don't know if it is just for me but half of your picture are not working.
From what I can see can can not make conclusion about your jacket, I hope that somebody more experienced can help us.
