From the few photos provided, the tunic itself is an original M36/40 officer upgrade. What I can see of the collar and shoulder insignia I would say also original but without better photos hard to tell if wartime applied, though the wear seems to fit. As far as the CT, I'll leave that to someone who has better knowledge on the subject.

CT appears to be an original from what I can see. Jim

It all comes down to "when" it all came together and that is always the hardest question. I have not read his sales description but I personally would only buy something like this if it had an air tight link to where it came from and was named with pictures etc.

I really like these worn enlisted upgrades, they have a cool field look.

I agree, these types of "expedient" upgraded field service tunics were also mostly destroyed as well. It is very hard to find a real field/front used tunic for a combat arms officer.

One comment I have about the CT. The nap wear is all the way up to the CT, and seemingly goes under? You would think that there would be a shadow of nap on each side of the CT where the wear would not be as great due to the ct providing some form of protection?

My thoughts exactly, at the other hand, the tunic can have been worn far before the CT was applied, since those where introduced in mid ’44 the tunic does not necessarily has to have been an ensemble all the time…

Actually, I’m also intrigued by the waffenfarbe, this appears more Panzergrenadier Green then Jäger…(although I have seen different combinations and exceptions before).
As said, a truly nice tunic for sure, but for this price it all comes down if indeed this particular set-up is pre-45; only a hands-on inspection can give the final verdict.

If this is an upgraded tunic why are there no belt hook holes

That's because the tunic has been modified to more officer standards; they are hidden under the lower pockets.

as everybody say it's a very nice looking combat worn tunic.
seems that all insignia matches in use. this is a good thing.

for my taste, it's an extremely nice tunic to collect, if real.
unfortunately low information available concerning this late war regiment/division as well about photos

I've noted that it's sold ... would be nice to have the opinion of the new owner when inspection is done.

                      thanks to everybody!!

Would any unit within Pz. Gren. Division Brandenburg be entitled to wear a Jager sleeve insignia? At any rate it seems that many dealers "gild the lily", that is; take a perfectly appealing and genuine tunic and "pimp" it up to appeal to the fantasies of perhaps newer monied collectors.

                          OSS,
note that previously to the divisional upgrading, the brandenburg was a jäger-regiment.
perhaps thats why the tunic bears jäger insignia, I guess.

to everybody ... do you think, by the photos that the waffenfarbe of this tunic is jäger type or pz-grenadier type??
