What you think about this edelweiss

    Thanks

I personally like it. It seems like a good one to me. That being said, this is my opinion.
    Lets see what others say.

I also would be happy with that one although it does vary from the two Bevo variants that I own. Whilst I am no expert I do collect these patches and I have not seen this one as yet. A couple of things I dont like is the lack of metallic thread on the piton and the way it has been all folded up and yet does not look like it has ever been on a uniform. Most unused Bevo patches are still square in shape. Nevertheless, this does not make it a repro and in fact it does not match the only repro Bevo style edelweiss that I have seen.

As I said I like it but I will be interested to see what other opinions are added.

Looks like an original late war type bevo. I don't know why it's foled, maby a collector did this once.

Lemm, there's nothing wrong with the metallic treath that is missing, these types also existed. I even have one original applied on a tunic.

Hi Sander I thought that was the case about the metallic thread but wasnt 100%. I do remember some time back on a similar thread somebody adamantly saying Bevo edelweiss without metallic thread were repros. I must admit I was in no position to argue even though a few others did but it just stuck in my mind thats all. Out of curiosity how many Bevo variants are there. Counting this one I have only seen three but I know there are probably more.

I guess (with tropical and late war light green) about 8 to 10 diffirents variations of the bevo edelweiss. Just look to the core of the flower and you'll see a lot of varation...you have small, medium and large cores. And then you still have a varation in the core itself, the structure isn't always the same.

Here is a picture of an edelweiss with non metallic treath of my collection.

But as you can see, these two edelweiss posted here are still not the same, so I guess there's a whole bunch of variations out there!
