wore specific duty gorgets displaying 'GD' cyphers ?
Is this correct ?

Can any-one provide picture, drawing etc. of this extremely rare gorget ?

look in the book " god, honor, fatherland " on page 175 and you will see a very good pic of the gorget with the "GD" cypher being worn.

Tony is right...that book and that page show the special GD gorget for feldgendarmerie. I have only ever seen one example - and it is a battlefield relic... quite rusty but the "GD" is still clearly discernable. I have several photos of it - belongs to a guy in Florida. I'd post an example, but the guy has asked me to only show it in the book I am researching and hope to publish.

I have no evidence that they ever wore the cufftitle and I am not 100% sure either way that the waffenfarbe was orange.
