    Nazi Zeppelin Cap Badge

What exactly does this represent, and is it Good, Bad, or Ugly? Also any idea on value, should it be original, would be appreciated...

    Thank you, Rich

This is the design of the cap insignia of the DZR (Deutsche Zeppelin Reederei) used in a wreath on the visor cap and as a badge on the Matrose cap, but this piece looks like a casting to me. The details of the Gahr name, 800, etc. are really poorly defined. There are a few photos in the Halcomb/Saris/Spronk headgear book volume 2. No photos of the reverse, though, but it's odd that it would be made by Gahr in 800 silver.

...this is a very rare Zeppelin crew badge.

They were indeed made by Gahr Munchen, from real silver.

Original or not is difficult to say , without holding it in hands.

Definitely an unused original - I like it allot! These are even more rarely encountered mounted in the embroidered wreath as worn on the peaked caps.
