I like it also but note that its not Belgium made...its marked "Reitz" which is the German parent company, in Wupperthal if I remember correcty.
The Belgian made "Reitz" uniforms were marked "E.Reitz" which is an affiliate company I understand. Plain "Reitz" (no letter "E") is the German branch.

Also the 1940 date would probably be a little bit too early for it to be occupation made in Belgium (barely 1/2 yr into the occupation)

Does 56,00 mean 56 Euros? if so that's pretty low

Stripped tunics are magic- It will shoot up in price like a rocket in the last 5 seconds and then will appear as an untouched SS officers tunic somewhere in about a month.

The seller states in his offer, that traces of the eagle are still visible. So it won't be easy to confert it into a SS-tunic.

Thanks to "Sturmmann" we have now many more possible buyers, so the price will go up and up...

That was a joke about stripped tunics on Ebay in general. I think with the eagle having been machine sewn through the lining that will never be an issue with this one. It looks to me like an Officer upgrade. I do not see tresse outlines? Makes it much easier to restore.

I always watch stripped tunics on eBay. They never stay. Last one that I saw went for 800 euro it had a nasty bidding war that I lost. The last day of the auction is when people start to bid.

                      Hi there!

The jacket is ok by my side... Classical german-made one.

                      Anyway, some thoughts:

It is not clear if the straps it carried, was for Pvt or officer. In every case could be pertinent, due the Pvt and NCO pratice to sewn the straps on its 'good' jacket... used as walking uniform. For sure it was born for the loops, cut-off in one time of its life. Seems to me to see the traches of it, near the hole for the sewn-in straps.
Is strange even that the thread wich the eagle was applicated, pass trought the lining. This pratice was quite common on middle/late war eagle, but not often see on early productions.

                      Cheers!

The eagle that was sewn on there was IMO a flatwire which probably was added the same time the Badge cloth was applied to the collar. It was not a factory application, either period or a bad collector restoration. This would be a fairly typical modified field tunic for a Jr. Officer.

Could be... I agree with the flatwire thesis... but more likely an officer would hand sewned the eagle. But is not impossible also that this young CO have got its flatwire eagle sewn in this way...

We have to see the holes for the shoulder straps... Is they're too large for an CO straps we have to restate the thesis...

                          Cheers!

Maybe he's the seller? ...but he is from Estonia and tunic is in Germany supposedly...bad move! He should get a commission on the sale!

This is probably how it was set up, this is an M42 but the same idea. A cheaply produced expendable field tunic.
