    German Military Stuff

I found some German military stuff (Uniform, Banners, arm bands, coins, pictures and other things) and am trying to identify the origins and information about a couple of things.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

    <o></o>

    1. The uniform: I know that the uniform I have is that of an infantry officer but that is about all that I know. Does anyone know what the ribbons mean? Anyone know what unit the solider was attached to. Any history of the unit. (60 is on the solder board.) <o></o>

    <o></o>

    2. The Banner: The banner is pretty big "guessing 2 by 3 meters” There is some writing on the banner. I think it is "Reichskriegstlg 2x3 35" any ideas of what this means?<o></o>

        German Officers Uniform

Do you guys have any information or know where I can get information on the German uniform I have. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

        1. Does anyone know the rank of the shoulder boards? (There are two gold pips on the shoulder boards. Looks like photo 26a on officer boards.<o></o>

        <o></o>

        2. What does the 60 mean on the board?<o></o>

        <o></o>

        3. I this an infantry officer?<o></o>

        <o></o>

        4. What does the cord mean on the right shoulder?<o></o>

        <o></o>

        5. Any idea what the ribbons mean? I guess the one ribbon is from World War 1. I also see the Russian Service and maybe an Iron Cross ribbon I do not know what the other ribbons could mean. <o></o>

        <o></o>

        6. I this uniform valuable? I am just curious for storage purposes.<o></o>

        <o></o>

Any other info would be great also. Thank you for your time.<o></o>

        <o></o>

              Yep!

Those work! Looks like a nice Kriegsflag and a very fine infantry officer's parade waffenfrock. Yes, it is valuable!!! Some more pictures of the frock would help the "uniform" guys tell you a value. The cover looks good too....just needs a little reshaping. The "60" if I remember correctly would be the infantry regiment he was assigned to. The medals are an Imperial EK2 (Iron Cross 2nd Class), a Hindenburg Cross for combatants, a Party service medal (can someone else help on that one?), and Army service medal (both service medals were for years of faithfull service) and an Eastern Front medal. There is also a Hitleryouth membership pin there (not his!) and some sort of tinnie. I don't know much about the parade aguilette (sp?). Is there a name in the tunic or cover? Congratulations on the nice items and welcome to the forum!

              Cheers,
              Jeremiah

In a pocket a found a little paper in German.

                On side says:

                wird gebeten

                Fr An Roruef

                zu Tishu zu fuehre

                Other side says:

                Herr (furuefrnvurra Prurrue) hand written

                    Hi

It seems that he was a reserve officer as his shoulder boards seems to have a grey underlay.

                    thanks

                    Juan

Hey Carl, welcome! Just thought I'd put this in, white writing is MUCH easier to see than dark writing! See what I mean!
