NCO Summer Field Blouse Help

I am looking to buying this NCO Summer Field Blouse But, i would like some opinions on weather the insignia is period applied. For Sale on E-Stand Thanks guys

Nice tunic. I'd like to ask one question please. I've just received a nice early M36 Panzer Rgt4 NCO tunic with the early pointed shoulder boards like these and the same type buttons. Was this normal for the earlt M36 styles with these buttons used on the shoulder boards and standard field green for the rest of the tunic? Sorry to high jack your thead.

The eagle looks good. Any trace of stitching on the inner lining?

On these tailor-made field blouses there is often no way to know if the insignia is period applied or postwar replaced. Hand sewn is hand sewn, we can look at the quality of the application, the thread used, and the wear/age of the insignia compared to the rest of the tunic but ultimately, a well-done restoration is impossible to detect on these types of items. Some people will assert that they can look at something like this and be sure either way but the reality is that there is more art than science to these kind of opinions. Looking at this one, I think it has a good chance. I like the hand stitching on the tresse. I would be more concerned that the base tunic itself is pre-1945 and not a postwar police summer tunic, some of which looked similar to this one- I want want to closely inspect this to be sure it was always a closed-collar style and not an open-collar jacket that has been reworked.

I see your point. But doesn't police tunics have white numbers? What should I look for to see it's period.

Hello Chris,

It's my tunic. I know which police tunics you are talking about. This one is not. The police tunic's are of a bit different kind of fabric and not exactly this model. The collar has not been reworked. The only markings are the one on the pictore and these have also nothing to do with the police markings.
