    Original Tunic

Any opinions on this, most appreciated, just found it following my medal hunting. The seller is pretty hit n miss on items so i wont be surprised if its post war, whether the photos are good enough for an opinion, if it did turn out to be ok, whats the cost of a tunic in this condition?

    Thanks

It looks like a piped rock from before the TR period, when it had the eagle and the green collar added, probably c1936/7. I THINK its original.
Green piping for jager/rifles?, though the collar tabs are white? for infantry.

Customs wore a similar tunic with dark green piping to this as well but I do not know the details. The pattern is (if it is Army) would be late 20s, the piped tunics were authorized for wear in the summer of 1927. Whatever it is the base tunic is real, figuring out the insingia and when they were applied is always the hard part.

thanks both for the input, could i ask you what your opinions are on collector to collector price for this, its about £200 which sounds quite cheap for a tunic?

If it is customs that is not a good deal, if it is 1920s Jager with a WH collar even if all the inisignia is reapplied and with the damage IMO it is a good price.

Here is another one, but I would make sure it is not customs. Customs may have had green around the cuffs as well and RH in this pattern tunics did not.

Thats definitely not a Jaeger (too dark) but a WH-Administration officer. The tunic itself is a typical old style tunic from the early 30s. If I look at the bunch of repairs I assume the original darkgreen collar cloth has been completely replaced. All insignias has been replaced aswell. I wouldn't even pay $50 for this tunic. Thats just MHO

                        Hei!

I think, its WH Administration. Its very interestinfg to me, so if you have this one for sale, I am interested!

                        Best regards, Kay.

This is clearly a customs-zoll uniform, third reich period with post war added (damaged) wehrmacht bullion breast eagle.
You can even see the ghost of a customs cufftitle on the sleeve...
Its not a prewar piped something jager related, nor Heer administration (verwaltung)...

Its 1000% German customs...with typical green piping on the front closure and cuffs. Even the ribbed tricot green officers quality material is textbook customs.

If there is not too much damage done to the breast area with the added eagle, it could be worth restoring back to customs with little effort!

Below is my tunic which of course also was found with a Heer breast eagle...I restored it to its proper customs (Zoll) configuration!

                          Another indicator that its Zoll:
9 out of 10 customs uniforms had slip on shoulderboards (as opposed to sew-in), so if the uniform appears to be early cut but lacks slits
in the shoulderseams for sew-in boards (like Heer would usually have on early dress tunics) its Zoll! = their standard.
Note slip- on boards on my tunic!
