    Africa Corps uniform question

I recently was given what appears to be a genuine Africa Corps jacket and trousers. I cannot find any stamp or label in either item and all insignia and buttons have been removed. The fabric where the patches were is for some reason darker than the rest of the clothing. All the stitching and piping is first rate. No lining in either the pants of tunic.

My main question is if there is some major characteristic that will indicate authenticity or not. After that is determined I will post some photos. Are there specific areas of the clothes that I should take detailed photos of?

    Thanks in advance, Ausgang

Hi, there are a lot of indicators of originality, but some depend on the pattern of tunic, to do with the shape of the pocket flaps and presence/absence of pocket pleats. ZigZag stitching under the collar, though that is usally faked, it should have had a first aid pouch, a partial lining/reinforcing, belt support holes and support straps, etc.. Too many to list, probably best to post some pics, front, back, inside and see what is said.

its darker where patches were because the rest was sunfaded.

...and a feature now commonly faked on tunics seen on auction sites.
Please post detailed photos of the tunic's interior, pockets, under the flaps, cuff buttons, behind the button flap that hides the 'S' rings, as well as the interior of the trousers, fly details...etc etc.
We could describe all day long what to look for on original items or you could simply do a search here on the forum to see if you actually have an authentic piece or not...
        Best Regards,
        Mark

Um, you're doing it wrong. Post quality photos first and all will be revealed.

Does not look original,IMO the jacket or trousers

                              Hello,

Sorry, but the tunic & pants are all bad.

Here's a pair of FAKE DAK shoulderstaps:
