    Question about subdued NCO tress

    Hey guys,
Every once in awhile I see a NCO tunic with copper looking/subdued wire tress.
This may be a "stupid" question, but is this just aged metallic/silver NCO tress that is seen everywhere or is it produced in this color like tropical NCO tress. I just really like the look of this subdued metallic tress. If it was made to be this color then was there any official distinction between dress versus combat tress...like wire shoulder boards seen on officer tunics.

IMO it is stained and was dull white/gray or silver. I have seen tresse that is almost brown from smoke staining as well.

Thanks Johnny. I figured it was just dirt & grime, but with so many tailor variations I figured I would ask.

If it is a field tunic, that might have even been done intentionally to make it less shiny etc. It looks like grease. Hard to say for sure.
