KM Breast Eagle on Reichsheer Jacket

The breast eagle pictured came to me on a genuine, Reichsheer period parade jacket appropriately marked on the inside to a man who joined the navy in 1934. The jacket retains all of the original Reichsmarine-marked, fire gilded buttons. As was acceptable and not uncommon practice at the time, so I understand, members of the navy simply updated their uniforms with Third Reich national insignia. In this case, it has been rather loosly hand-stitched to the jacket.

My question of forum members out there who have more knowledge than I do on this subject: is this breast eagle recognizable as a genuine period or a post-war example. Comments and opinions will be appreciated, please.

If one or more of the members could comment on whether or not this might be an original or a post-war breast eagle, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! John
