Piped trousers: WW1 or WW2 or repro??

    Dear all,

My friend bought these pants some years ago in order to display a WW1-era German Jäger officer. Display was very nice!

Now he wants to "let them go" but is unsure what those really are... I couldn't help him too much but I know that in here there are plenty of fellow collectors with loads of knowledge!

Pants are in great shape, like unissued. Not the best workmanship which, IMO, could mean repro... but then again, I've seen plenty of Finnish war time clothing that are done in similar way, like the seams are bit "rough" on inside. But then again these have some extra which repro maker might skip, like the reinforcement on the trouser bottom to prevent wear/tear from walking.

So... let me know your thoughts, here are some pics!

    Thanks & rgds,
    Miikka

        ...still some more...
Tightening strap is bit roughly made.

...one more... no buttons missing, spacing is like that between first & second button!

          No stamps or makers label.

          Thanks again in advance!

They look very good to me but then they could be just very good reproductions. I would think that they are originals with the details they have. Are the button hole keyhole type?

                Thanks Denny!
I'll check the button holes when I get home from work!

                  Here are button holes:

First top one, obverse & revers and then another one showing how other holes look like.

Those others have bit like "chain-stitched" reinforcements going around the holes, actually same that can often be found from Finnish war time tunics.

Whaddaya think? Might be too much work for a repro-maker?
