Hi to all,
as there has been some threads regarding cap eagles i thought it was about time for members to show what they have. If positive intrest is shown a thread could be started in other forums.

To start i will apologise if the photography is not 100% as i am not a photographer.

I know that this is a silly question, but what are the major variations in the Heer cap eagles?

I re-enact and have seen that the eagles on our visors are really good. What are some major differences in the repros and the originals?

Hi Paul,
one of the main differences (not obvious from the first photo`s ) would be the detail on the obverse and reverse.

The earliest eagles were plated and usually with a highly polished finish (as shown in pic. of early patt) but also the second patt. were also made this way, befor the alu types and the grey metal types appeared.
