If yes what is it exactly and is it german?

Can you tell if the upper pocket was added later, is it hand sewn etc. or was it machine sewn when the coat was constructed etc.

Hello, thanks for the reply, to bad i dont know anything more about this one except what the photo's tell you.

Pretty hard to say too much, my guess from the few photos is a wartime surcoat/ modified overcoat made into a short jacket with added pockets etc. Probably post War for civilian use.
