Need help IDing a German shoulder tab

Hopefully, I at least am using the right terminology here. I bought this WWII German shoulder epaulette (if this is the correct term) and I want to learn more about exactly what it is I have.







My interest in learning more about it is because I have decided to part with this piece of militaria. As such, I also would be interested to learn its approximate current value.

The epaulette is a sew in style for a Army Captain of Infantry.
