    Great tunic!!!!

    Only one the III. Battalion of the 17th Infantry Regiment wore the green Waffenfarbe.

    The 9th and 12th coy to honor the tradition of the Hannoversches Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 10 - The 11th coy in tradition of the Rheinisches Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 8

      [quote=Johnny R;3975523]Very very nice set.

      It is a M1928 pattern piped service tunic-

      It is great when it has all been kept together and the historical context is preserved. It always amazes me when family, especially sons etc. will sell this stuff. Then again seeing people pay 30 dollars for hamburgers perplexes me as well.

      John, thanks for identifying the model of this tunic - with the angled lower pockets and different dimensions to the various details (collar, pockets, cuffs, collar and wool grade) it seemed to be something different.

      I would have loved to have had my fathers uniforms or other service items, but don't fault this son for getting rid of these. There are many reasons besides greed that family members part with this stuff. Not my style, but that's OK - seems like a nice fellow.

      Naxos, thanks for the lineage regarding the jaeger designation for this regiment / company. I really appreciate it.

      regards, Robert
