I bought these Luftwaffe Hauptmann (Captain) rank patches today at a local auction - they reportedly came from a vet's estate. The gulls are made of white wool and the backing is made of a medium-brown wool. The quality seems to be there, but I would like to hear some opinions on these. If they are real, what type of jacket/flying suit would they have been applied to?
