Interesting Ost truppen uniform image...
("borrowed" from a Russian site for the purpose of studying).

Check out the officer's Ost truppen collar insignia and the men's sleeve insignia marked X !!
Looks like bars made of cloth, but not like those rank insignia you see
on camo uniforms...

Any ideas? Some kind of sub-unit markings like regimental stripes on sleeve shields of Cossacks perhaps?
