    3rd pattern Panzer Wrap questions

    Hi all;
    I have a couple questions concerning panzer wraps.

    1) Did production shortcuts of the 3rd pattern ever lead to breast eagles being sewn through the lining? How often is this encountered?

    2)Russo-braiding...Now I know that any authentic piece is a treasure, but are tunics with this style of tabs "less desired?

    Thanks for the help. Wade, please comment!

    Hi Stuart,
    how are you?
    Eagles where never production sewn through the lining....even as a shortcut. There are many tunics that have been "de-nazified" by having the eagle removed (often immediately in captivity) so this is often the result of that. This is a common occurence.

    As for the Russia braid method of making the collar tabs, it definately existed, but also it's an easy way for a person to restore a wrap without obtaining the hard to find collar tabs, so I would have to say it's less desirable. Often there is a mark from the original tabs being sewn on, but naturally not always, but yes..........they are less well thought of. But not impossible.

    Hope that helps!
    Cheers, Wade.
