I think that your panzer eagle is authentic. It is the type that was manufactured by E. Reitz of Belgium. You can do a search and get some more information.

            thats great news!!!

I wondered why there was a fake among the other 23 original pieces i got in that lot, now it seems that all were good, even better.

And a fourth vote for these, as was said, made by Reitz.
                Very nice condition example.

                      re

Well I hope Werner P. don,t find this thread
The eagle is indeed a very very nice belgium wartime made one
                      But No REITZ

Here is a qoute from our own member Werner P his side

The following insignia are often referred to as being Reitz-made . So far we have not encountered any evidence that confirms that E.Reitz actually produced these insignia !
Most likely they were produced by a factory called "La Nominette" that was located in Aalst Belgium. The investigation into this matter is ungoing.
They are however 100% original WWII examples

Do have a look at the insignia at his side http://www.ereitzuniformwerke.be/Whome.htm

                      Greeting,s Johnny

                            Greetings All,

Jerry you are correct! The Reitz factory never made the eagles but they are seen on alot of their tunic. That is why they are generally called Reitz eagles.
                            Johnny is very correct also!!!!
John, They look like they are flatwire but are in reality a very fine white thread that has a really shiny sheen to it.
