Here is a nice worn example of a M42 field tunic that had the collar refaced in badge cloth and first pattern tabs added by the wearer,arms and skirt slightly shortened.

Breast eagle was applied at the factory before the pocket was added and was sewn through the lining...The wound badge has been on it forever.



I really like these field worn jackets,lots of character.

It looks like the wool base material under on the tabs are the late 20s/early 30s RH collar and insignia material. Neat detail, probably soldier or tailor made.

my m42 has the same eagle applied in the same way before pockets were added,thats always a good sign when it goes under the top of the pocket

Stunning tunic! I really like these later tunics with the m36 modifications to the collar and straps (etc).
