    Sos m43

Here is one of my SOS purchases, an M43 tunic that has several late war economy features. First for the front and back shots.

Breast eagle. This is hand sewn and a reattachment, even though it is very neatly done. There are a few errant stich holes that pierce the lining, but they are so erratic that I believe that they are from a previous collector re-attach.

Another time/money saving measure is the lack of any adjustment methods for the cuffs, they are simply plain. I have seen a similar lack of features on M44 blouses in my books, but would like to know if this was at all common on this model tunic. It only shows light wear, but does have a hole repair on the right forearm and a rip sewn up on the upper left sleeve. Also, loops are present for a ribbon bar/CCC and 2 badges.

or belt ramp support strips and holes as well

It could also have been found in a factory unfinished with no insignia applied or issued unfinished.

From the photos the reverse collar attachment thread of both the collar tabs and collar tresse appear to be the same...If so either the tabs and tresse were added post war to a unfinished jacket (or a stripped jacket) at the same time along with the eagle,or the collar tabs were removed and moved back when the collar tresse was applied by the wearer..

                            Nice clean jacket.
