If everything is originally applied he may have been in a higher comand for Pioniere administration or could also have continued to have worn the edelweis after an assignment to a mountain unit.

One of the nicest sets that I have seen in a long time!

I would really like to see a close up photo of the rear bottom edge of the skirt hem on the outside.

        Hi to all,

thanks for your fast replies !

For phild : Really like the set ? I'm very happy !
Tomorrow, now in Italy is late, put the requested photos.
What are your opinions on the pionier shoulder straps ?
It is possible that this is an official of the Gebirgs troops transferred to a pioneer unit ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

        Ciao
        Michele

            ...

I can't comment on the unit, but it's a beautiful set of privately tailored garment. Especially that berghosen! Stunning!

              Ciao,guys

I am very happy that you like it.

In my opinion the insignia were applied originals at the time but my doubt is the edelweis on the jacket of an official of the pioneers, but 4th pionier gebirgs bataillone has never existed!
The source of the material is good, why I tend to an official of the alpine troops moved to pionier unit and faithful to its military traditions has retained the edelweiss.

Or they simply resew the edelweiss for increase the price of the jacket !

              Other ideas?

Really sorry for my poor English.

                  ...

I really doubt that someone would have a pair of berghosen if not attached to a GJ unit. And there's the edelweiss also, which matches the application of the eagle. I think these evidences talk and the set is just good as it is.

                    Greetings All,

Looking at the underside of the collar,to me, it looks like there is an enlisted mans collar tab sewn under the officer tab. Am I just seeing things?

I think it is the stiching of the reinforcement inside the collar..

The rank does not match a later Wartime Battalion Command. There are several Pioniere Units and staffs with the designation "4" that are not listed in Lexicon, If you get the service records or find them on line and one of them had earleir service with a GJ unit then you got your man.
