Bundeswehr using a single braid Fangschnur as well but I do not think they ever used the metal flutes.

I wonder if it is a BW cord - notice how the fabric going into the ferrule is squeezed into the base. I thought it could be an adjutantschnurr with a missing ferrule, but I am not certain.

Dont the Adj. cords attach near the button hole? I do not have one of those. This thing is odd. DDR used these too but they were more like WWII.
