    m44 tunic question

could anyone please kindly confirm if m44 tunics had hooks at the collar neck like the m43s, etc? or were they always worn open? i would think on parades and formal events the neck would be closeable, but i havent seen one close up. any information would be great!
    thanks in advance, gentlemen.

No hook and eye but they did have a buttoning flap under the collar.

hi glenn many thanks for that. i hadnt realized the m44 had no hook. there you go. must have been a war rationale, save metal for weapons, etc. thanks for your answer.

I believe the lack of collar hooks to be intentional,as they were designed to be worn with an open collar.

As far as i know no M44´s have the hook, apart from the re-used uniforms to make M44´s (mostly M43´s).
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.
