Unissued Kreigsmarine Foul Weather Leather coat

Picked this up today at our military show here in Toledo. The condition is great except the shoulders of the jacket, the guy stored it for years in a dry cleaning bag and it dried out the shoulders which are flaking a bit, other than that its in excellent shape, now the cool part, this jacket was never issued and the maker and depot tags were in the pocket, the guy took them off years ago and put them in the pocket, never seen one with the tags still, the buttons still have nearly all their giltling, just one heck of a nice jacket.

Some leather treatment might help that. I know a lot of collectors have mixed feelings about oiling or treating leather. I personally am more into preserving it than letting it go. Just a thought.
                  Great jacket by the way.

Thanks! I'm going to leave it as is at the moment, don't want to bugger it up, never seen one with the tags before anyone else?

I havn't either, in over 30yrs of collecting i have never seen one like this, to bad the shoulders are somewhat chaffed but its not that bad, fortunatly he put the tags in the pocket and didn't throw them out or loose them.

Hello, IMO this one is not an unused leather tunic. Labels are OK but I have never seen them before. The buttons reachanged IMO as they have to be matt silver and not gold, all black or grey leather tunics that I have seen with gold buttons, these were changed.

Black KM leather tunics are not rare and you can find them with no problem.

This is mine, mint condition with lether in perfect condition and original buttons.

                              Eduardo
