Eagles on Estand that need to be discussed

At the moment there are two eagles on the estand that need to be discussed.

I believe both of these eagles to be reproduction.

Hi Fred,
The dak has been withdrawn, but the 'panzer' has what appears to me to be some questionable features, not least the reversed facing head and the above fold line detail.

dak eagle for sure is a bad one not sure what to make of the other panzer ? maybe a rare early bird ?

Eagle

Greetings All,

The DAK eagle was cut close to the rear so the back "tell" wouldn't show. The front "tell",4 small feathers, is still there though. These are nice eagles and are being done on rayon!

The "panzer" eagle's front doesn't look to bad except that the head is facing the wrong way. I have seen this in BeVo cap eagles but never a BeVo breast. Some could say that this is a judicial eagle, but I have only seen those in bullion. The "tell on this eagle is the excess thread/material above the foldline on the reverse.

I purchased the panzer eagle..When it arrived I realized it was not a reverse facing early panzer breast eagle.. the seller NBollinger (kudos) IMMEDIATELY refunded my purchase price BEFORE even getting it back.. As I mentioned to him in returning it..I THINK its an original DRB tunic breast eagle which was used briefly late in the war..I was a pale white yellow and had the feel IMO of late war bevo stuff.. Again thanks to all involved..Billbert

The "panzer eagle"

This is probably a Private Railway sleeve eagle which is somewhat scarce.

Hi,
The weave above the fold line is usualy considered a sign of a fake. This has that, as outlined in red. This is not loose thread, but weave above the fold line.
