    Medic collar

    Hello my fellow collectors.

I have been looking at Medical Waffenrock lately and there is one thing I´m not sure about, it´s the collar.

I have been doing search here on forum, also in books and I have found two types that I want to know why.

I don´t know the right word for it, but I´m talking about the white "lining" (see the picture below) and the blue "lining".
What is the diffrence? Is it early, late war type?

The collar and tabs at post #1 are fine like all the other ones that you have shown us, they are just different style ones since there were so many different variations and makers.

The first tabs shown were used on Parade tunics and piped service tunics, They have "white" or more often silver "lining" refered to as Spiegelen and the bordering cords at the top and bases of the speigel as "Chapel cords" and are mounted on the base fabric that is the waffenfarbe. The other tabs with piped spiegelen are for service and field service tunics. The first tunic was partially converted from a waffenrock and the collar piping as well as the tabs were left as they were.

Yes, the piped tunic and waffenroks have the pides cord that denoted the branch of service already. They did not need the waffenfarbe on the collar patches. My piped 4 pocket pioneer tunic is like your first example except is black for pioneer. Your example is excellent and original.

Your beautiful example # 4, is in a regular private purchase M 36 ( not piped). I know because resides in my closet
