Can anyone advise me on howmuch on is expected to pay for a original LW Knochensack ? + to what kind of points does one have to look for originality ?

Hi David,

Haven't seen this on the Fj Forum so I'll answer here. There is no quick answer to your question. The price depends on which model "sack" you are considering and it's condition. Unissued examples bring a premium price and the earlier models are much more expensive than the final pattern. Smocks with heavy wear, removed eagles, or damage are worth much less than examples in excellent condition. Splinter patterns and more valuable than the tan/water patterns. The final pattern is the most common and an unissued tan/water pattern will bring $4,500 here in the US. An unissued late war splinter pattern will bring $5500. An early green step in pattern, plain without pockets, which is extremely rare, would bring 20,000 or more. Few of these exist. Hope this helps. If you need more details just reply.

Thanks John for the answer, oh my god these things are kind of the higher priced items and wil for sure normaly out of my reach !!!!!!.

I have been promised one by a former owner but i have absolutely no clue that there does exist different patterns , is it possible to explain me the differences ( mayby with pictures, etc ... ??? ) and what to look for etc ...

So if i ever get lmy hands on one of these things i wil be gladely show pictures here ( this can take a few months, etc .. )
