I just saw this jacket at german ebay:

    http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I really dont know what I should think about and would like to hear other collectors opinions (I am not going to buy it, I only want to know if or )

The photos are poor, but I think that the wrap is a period orginal. It is anybody's guess as to when the zipper was added, but the default answer is post war for civilian wear. It is hard what else has been done to it in the photos provided. Basically for me anyway if the wrap showed that it had not been worn since the insignia was removed with maybe threads still hanging out and clear outlines from no wear or fading, I would give the alteration a chance of wartime..assuming that the sewing and zipper appeared wartime. My bet is that it was modified in the late 1940s or 1950s for wear.

Thats exactly what I thought. I am really surprised, I had never expected to see a genuine wrapper at ebay.

The zipper APPEARS to be plastic, of the type found on Luftwaffe flight gear.

Is not usual but sometimes it happens.

I hope someone here has got it, could be also period modified, and the post war zipper added later, nice wrap in my opinion.

Could be original, but the condition is poor for the price, 1500€ is high price for a stripped and ultramodified wrap. Maybe you never know if the zipper is wartime or postwar added. Is just my opinion.

This looks like a post War civilian modifacation to me. I agree it is way over-priced. They ended the auction as I was trying to copy the pictures. Oh well.

Pics are still there. What would be a fair price for it? I might contact the seller to see if it's still available.

                          Hello Guys

I'am sure, the wrap is a wartime construction. The zipper is not postwar.
I saw ritsch zipper on some original tunics.
maybe it is a war period field upgrade like this.

                          Greetings Andi

I am looking at the way there modified the jacket and it is setup like a Chino jacket-note the collar etc which was popular in the 50s and 60s. I could be wartime but I doubt it.
