This one I find very interesting.
The picture must be late war, EM soldier, with officer bullion eagle, pink Waffenfarbe on tabs, but different (black?) Waffenfarbe on shoulders, plus very young face, 1938 bar, so how old he was then, 12 years old?? hm....no later winterschlacht, wound badge, EK, but panzer badge ...

            Almost looks like a numbered PAB, i.e. 25, 50.......

No problem with that one - would buy it in a second.

What about a double breasted overcoat (raincoat/greatcoat) custom made in WH splinter camo
and it comes with high ranking Waffen SS shoulderboards attached?

Erich Beine had a nice set of civilian buttons on his 4 Taschen-Rock.

And his collar tabs are reversed.

I agree that this thread should be pinned! While we are all aware that these anomalies are not common, there must be much more period oddball stuff out there that was never photographed and can never be verified.
Unfortunately in TR collecting, if any of the kinds uniform items shown on this thread ever came out, it would need a lot of provenance to be accepted by most.
I think that the main value of these photos is to show that in war time, they used what they had or even what they fancied, and regulations often went out the window, particularly in the later stages of the war.
                      Keep it coming!

That tunic was definitely (with 100% certainty) tailored in Italy , (foreign tailoring based on buttons, collar shape and pocket flap stitching),
using Italian airforce blue gabardine wool and Italian military wooden buttons (not civilian buttons)

He was a paratrooper who also served in the Italian theatre, which explains this tailoring!

Compare with this bone-stock Italian (Army) one, similarities in tailoring, typical Italian!

                            Nick,

I have a rain jacket made in splinter camo with set up for shoulder boards and has pockets. So very plausible if you ask me Matt

                              splinter camo overcoat

In the early 1980s I visited Genmajor a.D. Horst Niemack and got to look through his photo album. The one image that sticks in my mind is of him and von Manteuffel walking together and both wearing matching overcoats made of splinter camo material. I even asked if I could possibly have the photo, but to no avail. Both had shoulder boards but no GD cufftitles!

Neat Picture Nick, Is it possible it is just an italian service tunic with German insignia applied instead of custom tailored? Not really up on my italian miliataria as I should be.
