    Opinions on jacket

I'd like to put this jacket for discussion concerning its authenticity.
Ive never seen a field made one as such and i'd like some learned opinions please.

According to the seller, "This is a genuine wartime rabbit lined jacket. It is made of a shelter quarter material and has several field repairs.
The zipper was added postwar and the jacket was worn in the postwar years as well.
Included are scans of the owner's ID or drivers license and a postwar ID as well."

Any opinions on known examples of these jackets?
    thank you guys.

We know from photos that jackets like this were made, wartime items were also modified and continued to be worn after the War. The sellers description is all believable the question is always when was something like this made during the War or afterwards and the only people who know that are dead. Based on what is there and the price, I would say it is typical of field made wartime jackets in materials and style and if it is real as described a good deal.

the reason is that these jackets were not officially made and they could well also be post-war jackets. im not familiar with these, and greatly appreciate all learned opinions.

                  thank you.

I like what I see. It has natural wear and tear and not contrived. Was it made prior or after the war? As John said 'only the dead know'.

If the price is right go for it.

I like these fieldmade camo jackets, but without evidence hard to say its wartime made even it have the right construction, look and wear
If the zipper is postwar are there traces it have buttons before or a other wartime zipper.
Is the rabbit liner from a italian anorak,or is the camo shelter material build around a rabbit winter jacket.
are the shoulderboards sewn in,i see buttons but no loops.
The ribbonbar is attached later i guess because the jacket is worn post war or is there a loop for the ribbonbar

                            Best regards,

Beyond the jacket itself I have known Pat for several years and was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to buy many items from him. They were all 100% and I have not reason to doubt what he is saying about who it belonged to or where it was used. I would buy it with complete confidence but it is outside of what I am interested in.
