what is he wearing?

I got this picture, it is taken in April 1945 in Holland (achterhoek) were I live. It shows German POW's. I'd like to know what camo jacket is shown and the cap he is wearing?

The cap looks like it might be a tropical version, other members - such as NZ Mark and Mr. Gibson should be able to confirm -

The camo smock looks like an expedient piece, tailored from Italian camouflage cloth, the so-called Telo Mimetico 29.
