This weekend brought two pairs of very interesting variations of the M43 Keilhose.First is a pair made of Italian Lana d’Ortica (nettle wool) which has never had the front flaps for the suspenders which could be turned into belt loops,at their place two belt loops have been sewn on in the first place and this is neither a field mod nor something made post-war by a collector,in fact these trousers have been found amongst thousands of other “rags” in Prato in theearly 80s.
The thread with which the front belt loops are sewn on can be found in other parts of these very interesting trousers, nearly matching a M44 and an M43 tunics in my collection!
Cheers
