Infantry enlisted straps

You can try to clean them, it looks like there is a more white surface of piping visible close to the edge of the board. It could be smoke damage etc. I saw a Infantry visor one time that had beeen in a VFW bar for about 40 years and the piping was brown. This also is the color of tea treated items as well.

Are you sure these are original to start with ? the piping looks suspicious to me .
A fake pair I would say IMHO .
The good old tee trick do people still do it ?
