A very nice jacket, thanks for posting it. Never seen one quite like that it certainly is different. Interesting eagle too. I like those bullion eagles with the natural grey colored base cloth instead of the usual black.

                      hello

                      nice tunic, nice color.

what i dont like it the kind of sewing of the edelweiss badge
                      very unsharp, isnt it?

I guess this was the second one that was attached to the tunic. You can see clearly inside of the sleeve the holes of the first sewing.
Perhaps the first one was damaged and he have sewn a new, enlisted men version by himself.
He was a man, that prefers EM-equipment. There was also two Gebjg-hats in the lot. One EM-Version and a tailored one without any officerpiping.
                        But who knows?
I missed the EM-cap, but i got the tailored one.
And i missed his GebArt-Visor too

Neat to see a double breasted mountain "windjacke" converted to an officer's tunic.
It does not have a split in the tail which is interesting!
I have only seen a couple of those conversions in my life time!
Great that the original M41 mountain coat stamp is still partially visible!
So absolutely no doubt that its a mountain unit garment! (restored or not)
Congrats on getting it and thanks for sharing!
