    WH M42 Tunic for review.

    Gentlemen,

I have a WH M42 that I would like to hear your option on. The collar was added at some point to give it an early look. The shoulder straps are sewn down and it looks like a tailor has done this. The eagle is hand sewn and it has not been sewn thru the lining on the inside. There is a hand sewn Jaeger patch. And there is a glued name tag saying 2.Komp.Pz. Abw. Abl. 17 (I think). Any clue what this stand for?

I blurred out the swastika as Photo bucket don’t like them to well.

Looking forward to your comments and if you need more pictures then say the word.

    With regards,
    Stian

    Hi all,

I guess it could be seen as a good sign that no one has given their comment or taking out their saber yet.
It’s obvious that the tunic isn’t text book. But it’s a beautiful tunic in nice thick wool that probably or hopefully has been change to fit a corporal with high ambition some time during the middle of the war.

    Please feel free to comment.

    With regards,
    Stian

      ...

wow! I could believe that all insignias are original to it and it's an untouched tunic of a jaeger.

          Stian,
I think that the name tag does not belong to.
As pointed out the Feldbluse is property of ...

"Schütze Georg (maybe Gregor) Reichel ; 2. Kompanie Panzer Abwehr
          Abteilung 17."

The name of the unit "Panzer Abwehr Abteilung 17" has been changed in
          "Panzerjäger-Abteilung 17" on 01.April 1940.
          (Please consider the Waffenfarbe !)

IMO the tag is from a different piece which is confirmed by the quality of
          the fixing.

            Thank you for your answer.
Maybe leftover from the owners old unit! The nametag is glued to the lining and since this tunic is made in 1942 and the name "Panzer Abwehr Abteilung 17" ceased to exist in 1940 then it’s a possibility

            With regards,
            Stian
