    KM Shoulder board ID please.

    Hi could anyone kindly id this for me. Button maker ST & LUDENSCHIED.

    Any land based possibility? ( Kustenartillerie etc...) Also please tell me what sort of garment this could have been worn on. There is at the end (opposite the button) a provision for what could be a brass clip. That would have secured it to the shoulder part.

      Looks like a nice salty engineering Stabsfeldwebel shoulder strap for the blue uniform which would have been on the blue reefer jacket. It's nice you have the screwback button with it. Not Coastal Artillery which would look the same but in grey instead of blue wool and would have a tongue to attach to a feldgrau Feldbluse.

            Does the button measure 17mm? I was told that KM shoulderstrap buttons were 17mm

              These are described as 17 mm but are often marked 18 mm as I've seen. The screw-backs identify them as shoulderstrap buttons, and this one matches the strap pips so well in patina I assume it's original to it.
