Breast Eagles

I was looking at some of my Officers tunics and noted some eagles are applied with scalloped edges probably from pulling the thread too tight on the badge wool and others with perfect edges. Do others see this uneven edge in period applications?

Thanks Glenn, this is a restore but because the Eagle was damaged and mothed and the tip of the eagle was left on the jacket it was a tough one. The eagle fit perfectly into the ghost and was 11CM wide, a larger size that is hard to find. So it looks okay? The whole tunic is not done. I will post that when it is.

This tunic was mine, it had the insignia applied period, and the eagle i believe is applied just like yours but on the top left hope this helps.

I have seen some "crappy" period applications. I like the smooth edges like the lower one in the first image (also restored). It is hard to do with all eagles. This is a really bad one that is period with a machine.
