Got there, but his is definitely not my area.

To me it looks like Oberleutnant shoulder boards of the Artillery?

Yes they are for Artillery, See 38th Rgt.

In the frst pic they appear very orange. The second pic it is difficult to decide. If they are Orange-red they would be Military Police, or Corp of Engineers, or Supplementary officers.
