    KM Eagle opinion

I picked up this eagle last weekend. I'm still very early in the KM learning curve so not really sure if this is good or not. The photo doesn't really show the thread as well as I would have liked. It's a fine gold metallic thread.

    cap eagle

I haven't seen one quite like it so far.
What are the dimensions? It looks like a Bordmütze cap eagle from the configuration of the feathers.
Fred Green is the ultimate authority here on these cloth eagles.
    Cheers.

      Greetings,

Thanks for the vote of confidence Norm! It looks like a bordmutz eagle as Norm says and it looks like it might be of belgium manufacture. It doesn't have the typical look of a german made BeVo eagle. Johnny vd heidjen will be able to help on this !

        Gents,
Thanks for your replies. The eagle is pretty big so I'd say more likely a breast eagle. The span of the upper feathers, excluding the backing material is 8.3cm (9.7cm with the backing included). Height is 4.2cm including the backing material. I have a Luftwaffe breast eagle and it's just a hint larger by 1-2mm

          Greetings,

The feather configuration on this eagle resembles a cap eagle. The size that you stated is in between a cap and a breast eagle. It looks like a worn BeVo piece. Is this eagle embroidered or BeVo? Thanks.

            Fred,
Looks like machine embroidered on very dark blue/black wool. These were taped/glued to a scrapbook page (no notes about them, unfortunately) so a lot of residue on the reverse.

Definitely looks to be of Belgian ancestry. I like it!

                reverse?

Could we see the reverse for reference sake?
                Regards,

                  Norm,
I need to scrape away whatever was holding this to the scrapbook page. Currently the reverse is nothing but peeled away scrapbook paper and residue that I think is rubber cement. I'll try and get a photo of the back up later today.
