    Luft trousers...a few questions

This is LBA(S)41 marked, has tapered ankles with ties, an adjustment buckle on each side of the waist, and set up for a belt or suspenders.

For what type of wear would these trousers be used?
Would this be appropriate for a Field Division display?

Would this have a particular model designation?

Well frankly, I am baffled by the lack of response from the Luft specialists. The ankle arrangement didn't make an appearance in Heer trousers until about 1943. Anyone else?

Give the mannequin lowboots and gaiters and it will be perfect for late war ... but the Field Divisions were already absorbed by the Heer then ...

This is one of the variations of the "Fliegerhose" (flyer's trousers) introduced prior to the war for all air crew personnel. Your pair (textbook!) is the pattern (generally the same as the prewar example) introduced in May 1940. these were worn in conjunction with the Fliegerbluse. I suppose these or similar trousers might have been worn by some members of Feld-Divisionen who were former air crew, but you'd probably be more accurate dressing your mannequin with standard long trousers....
If you're interested in selling these, let me know!

Are You really sure? For me it looks like a late war Rundbundhose. Early war trousers were worn with suspenders, late war examples also with belts. This one has the loops for belts. And look to the form, getting tighter at the ankles.

Yes - the date on these is an indicator. Also, check Angolia/Uniforms and Traditions of the Luftwaffe, Vol. 1, pp. 320-21. That said, these trousers were certainly similar to the later Rundbundhose.

In the book, they call the new model flyer trousers introduced in 1940.
                            Modelled after ski trousers.
