I dont' know, probably You are right, but set (pants and tunic) is still as he was found.
Forestry shoulder boards like for hauptmann.

Hi all!
Silver stars existed in the forestry ranking system. These were used for educational personnel at the university. But from all I have found out until now, these ranks had also a silver piping on the shoulderboards like the forestry administration officials.
But the regulations are not detailed in this question.
The first tunic in this thread is neither TR nor West German. Early post war WG forestry uniform was the same as TR but with eagle and cocade removed. Rank insignia remained the same as described in the 1942 regulation.
