Diplomatic / gov't officials shoulder boards

    Dear Friends,

I have a question regarding shoulder boards worn by diplomats and government officials. Does anyon know the designation of the color underlays? I have observed dark blue / black, light blue, white, and red. The books (Bender and another book published in the early 80s) specify that dark blue/black underlay is for diplomatic service. However there also exists white and red, the white is also observed on the dark blue/black uniforms (so it is not just for summer tunics). Does anyone know what the white and red underlays designate?? Perhaps a certain government ministry??? All help is much appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance!
    Dave

Angolia states that the "wine-red underlay was for an administrative official" (pg103)

"a white underlay fabric was commonly used when the edge was covered" (pg104)

I had read that comment ""a white underlay fabric was commonly used when the edge was covered" (pg104)" however, I am not sure what exactly this means? White has been observed on the dark blue tunics and overcoats for government officials, but what branch of government or specialization it represents?

UM dated 15.12.1938 for the field-grey uniform for Administrative personnel

          Justic Admin - Wine red
          Postal Admin - orange
          Traffic Admin - Light red
All other Admin - Light Grey hell grau

          Pg104

Could this be what you are seeing? Light grey would show up as a white color in a B&W piccie.
